The main problem that we face in the current healthcare system is amount of patients who dies in hospital due to delayed medical interventions. Our solution is to build a system that can monitor and record patients data at all time, and use the data collected to predict when a patient enters a life-threatening condition, allowing health professionals to perform a positive medical intervention.
It will beneficial for both hospital staffs and the patients. For the hospital, the use of technology could work to automate the manual checking being done by health professionals at this stage, allowing them to attend to patients with urgent needs. As for the patients, this system can dramatically reduce their chances of entering life-threatening conditions due to lack of medical intervention, thus decreasing the hospital’s mortality rate as well as increasing the patients’ confidence to the hospital.
This monitor is also a good system for helping doctors to have a better understanding of patients’ condition. Patients may not always be able to provide verbal information to the health professionals for an accurate diagnosis, utilising sensor technology can aid this process. Another problem that health professional face are the vague responses from patients that affects the health professionals’ understanding of their conditions. The use of our system would tackle these problems systematically by analysing the patients’ data.
